Entourage: The Cast

Entourage is a comedy-drama television series that premiered on HBO on July 18, 2004 and is now in syndication around the world. The series was created and is largely written by Doug Ellin and chronicles the acting career of Vincent Chase, a young A-list movie star, and his childhood friends from Queens, New York City, as they navigate the unfamiliar terrain of Los Angeles, California.

Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson serve as the show’s executive producers, and its premise is loosely based on Wahlberg’s experiences as an up-and-coming film star.The series deals with themes of male friendship and real-life situations in modern-day Hollywood. The show is known for its array of guest stars, usually featuring at least two celebrities per episode.

Entourage was renewed for an eighth and final season containing eight episodes which premiered on July 24, 2011. A film is also planned after the series ends.

The Cast:

Adrian Grenier

He is best known for the lead role as Vincent Chase on Entourage .  He played opposite Melissa Joan Hart in Drive Me Crazy as well as in Britney Spears’ music video “Crazy”. In addition to being a filmmaker, Grenier is also a musician, playing guitar, drums, French horn, and the piano. He is a member of two New York bands, lead singer in Kid Friendly and drummer in The Honey Brothers. On June 2, 2008, Grenier’s new show, Alter Eco, premiered on Planet Green. The show features the actor and his team of green experts showing changes that can be made to become more eco-friendly.

Jerry Ferrara

Salvatore “Turtle” Assante (Jerry Ferrara), who is another of Vince’s old friends from childhood. Turtle’s official role is as Vince’s driver and assistant, though his value as such is often brought into question.  He’s probably the most different from his character. He’s like 180 degrees in the opposite direction. In 2009-2010 Ferrara dropped weight in a new outlook on health and fitness. Ferrara is said to have lost weight by trading, “burgers and fries for tofu, fresh organic fruit and vegetables.” In that time period, it’s said the 30-something actor lost about 50lbs.

Kevin Connolly

Vincent’s best friend and manager is Eric Murphy (Kevin Connolly) or “E,” as his friends call himConnolly started his career appearing in television commercials and guest starring in television shows including Wings, Getting By and the medical drama ER. Connolly has starred in several major motion pictures including Antwone Fisher, John Q,  The Notebook, and  He’s Just Not That Into You, which was released in 2009. Connolly has reportedly been cast as jazz musician Benny Goodman in an upcoming movie. The film, set in the 1930s, will focus on one of the first interracial bands of the era; Nick Cannon, Brandon Routh, and rapper Ludacris will co-star. In October 2008, Connolly was hired to direct his first music video for multi-platinum rap artist The Game, featuring R&B artist Ne-Yo.

Kevin Dillon

Vincent’s older half-brother Johnny “Drama” Chase (Kevin Dillon), is Vince’s personal chef, trainer and bodyguard. Johnny is a C-list actor who was in the fictional show Viking Quest during his younger days. His role in the new fictional hit show Five Towns has begun to resurrect his fame and career, although he still receives less acknowledgment than he would like for it. Dillon is the younger brother of actor Matt Dillon. He began acting in both television and films in the 1980s and first received wide attention for his role as the psychopathic soldier Bunny in the 1986 film Platoon. Dillon married model/actress Jane Stuart in Las Vegas. Entourage cast member Jerry Ferrara was the best man at the wedding and Kevin Connolly walked Stuart down the aisle.

Jeremy Piven

Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is Vince’s abrasive but lovable agent. The role has led to several nominations and Emmy Awards for Piven. Classically trained character actor Jeremy Piven shot to stardom as Ellen DeGeneres’ unforgettable, sharp-witted cousin Spence on the ABC sitcom Ellen. Piven has appeared in several successful films, including Lucas, Grosse Pointe Blank, Singles, Very Bad Things, The Family Man, Black Hawk Down, Heat, PCU, Old School, Rock N Rolla, Serendipity, Smokin’ Aces, and Runaway Jury.
